Level instruments

1. Definition: 
Level instruments are automated detection instruments used to measure the height or interface position of solid particles, powders, liquids, slurries, and other materials in industrial containers, silos, storage tanks, and pipelines. They are collectively referred to as level measuring instruments and are divided into three categories: liquid level, material level, and boundary level.

2. Main characteristics: 

  1. Wide measurement medium:Measurable liquids (water, oil, acid-base), solids (particles, powders, blocks), slurries, viscous media, etc.
  1. Diverse measurement methods: Including contact type (floating ball, capacitor, guided wave radar) and non-contact type (radar, ultrasonic, laser), suitable for different working conditions.
  1. Strong adaptability to working conditions: It can withstand high temperature, high pressure, corrosion, dust, steam, foam, mixing and other harsh environments.
  1. Standardization of output signals: It generally supports 4-20mA, Hart, Modbus, Profibus, etc., making it easy to connect to control systems.
  1. Accuracy and reliability: Different instruments have different accuracies, and overall have the characteristics of long-term stability, maintenance free or minimal maintenance.
  1. Safety features: Partially explosion-proof, anti-corrosion, dustproof, suitable for hazardous chemical areas.


3. Applicable industries: 

  • Petrochemical industry: crude oil, refined oil, acid and alkali storage tank liquid levels, reaction kettle material levels
  • Electricity: Ash silo, material bin, raw coal bin, desalination water tank, condensate water tank liquid level
  • Metallurgical mines: ore level, slurry level, blast furnace level
  • Cement building materials: cement silo, raw material silo, fly ash silo, aggregate silo material level
  • Water treatment/environmental protection: sewage tank, clean water tank, sedimentation tank, dosing tank liquid level
  • Grain and feed: Grain silo, feed silo, flour silo material level
  • Pharmaceutical food: syrup, sauce, storage tank, reaction tank liquid level
  • Coal chemical/natural gas: tank, separator, buffer tank liquid level
